These lights are absolutely amazing. I ride a scooter to and from work in NYC and I was looking for something that would help cars see me better at night. Bright, handy, a complete package!
These little lights are really handy. Not only do you get two of them, but they come with batteries already loaded, PLUS a spare set of batteries, two small velcro loops for attaching to things and a larger Velcro-elastic band large enough for an average upper arm AND a little screwdriver to open 'em up for a battery changeout.
There are three modes, and a press of the flush switch at the bottom-front cycles between off-constant on-slow blink and fast blink-off again.
The clip has four deep ridges on the inside to grip various mounting surfaces such as pockets, webbing, narrow belts, and so on. The spring that actuates the clip is quiet and pretty strong.
Another nice feature of the design is the rounded edges, which make the lights very snag-free, an important feature for active use.
My only slight negative about these is about the way the clip is hinged. To open the clip you have to press down on the upper-front edge and because the hinge is close to the pivot point there isn't much leverage and it's slightly difficult to grip the sides of the light while pressing down hard on the clip's front.
I own a blue set of these and a red set. It's funny, my blue ones don't turn off all the way, but the red ones do. I haven't noticed the blue running the batteries down yet, but it's probable that the trickle of power running 24/7 isn't going to enhance the battery life. :-). You can just barely see the blue ones running if you're in a dark location---at first I wasn't sure that they were on, but, yeah, just barely, they are.
All things considered though, the "LED Safety Lights" are a great value.
